The following morning, Legolas was walking silently through the gardens of Rivendell, taking in his surroundings with great curiosity. This wasn't like his home, Mirkwood, for a start it was located in a valley, not in the middle of a forest. Legolas had been sent to the Council of Elrond as a representative for his race, the race of the Elve's. Never before had he worried about making a certain journey. Being immortal he has seen 2'931 years, therefore he had travelled a lot, but he had never felt apprehensive like he did now. In all his long years he had certainly not taken on such a dangerous task, the place he dreaded most, was the place he was about to set out for. Mordor.
So deep in thought, he didn't realise he was walking straight into an occupied bench. He decided to sit down for a while, and see if he could get his head around his latest quest. Sitting down quickly, he sighed and leaned back. He heard the figure next to him cough timidly, suddenly coming to his senses.
'Oh, I'm sorry, how rude of me. You don't mind if I sit here do you?' Legolas asked looking at the side of the other figure.
'No, of course not. This bench is just as much yours as it is mine.' Lómadia said smiling at the male elf sitting next to her.
Legolas gasped at the beauty of this female he'd stumbled across. Her eyes were the deepest of blue, her skin looked so smooth and clean, her hair so long and golden, and her ears, pointed like his. She's an elf.
'erm….thank-you,' he stammered, not wanting to make a fool of himself in front of such a dazzling creature. 'Who are you, and what brings to Rivendell?'
'Lómadia daughter of erm…….forget about that. I have come to Rivendell to help on a journey that is incredibly important to all, but especially me. And may I ask for your name and purpose of being in this magnificent valley?' She looked about her in wonder, behind her was a tall oak tree that cast them in shadow.
'I am Legolas,' This was said with a wide smile on his face. 'from Mirkwood, I too have just been appointed to a task, a very dangerous one.' Legolas spoke these last few words hesitantly and quietly.
'Mirkwood? A delightful forest, it's a shame about the foul things that live in there. I would very much like to visit the city again, but I can't. I must return to Esgaroth when our task is over, if I survive it.'
'You have been to my city?' Legolas asked, puzzled.
'Yes, though it was a long time ago. My erm……some one I knew was banned from living there, and I moved to Esgaroth with them.' Lómadia replied nervously.
'I'm sure, that if you haven't brought any harm to my city, you will be welcome to rejoin us. My father is always happy to welcome new comers and elve's returning after many years of being away.'
'Your….your…father? You are Legolas son of the King Thranduil? Prince of Mirkwood?' Lómadia was completely and utterly overwhelmed. 'I have had the desire to meet you for such a long time!' she bowed her head slightly.
Legolas nodded, 'It's always nice to meet someone who knows me, I hope you will consider returning to Mirkwood, Lómadia. I may see you there sometime, but I must go now, I leave on my task at dawn, it was lovely meeting you.' He smiled and shook Lómadia's hand.
'Good luck, Legolas. I prey your task will go well.' Smiling politely she stood up and the two walked away in different directions.

Frodo sat on a chair in a huge Library full to the brim of books, scripts and parchment. Across the room sat Lord Elrond, leader of Rivendell, his blue eyes bore into Frodo. The wise look on Elrond's face made him feel smaller then he already felt.
'You have been appointed Ring Bearer, Frodo. It is your decision if Lómadia joins your fellowship.' Elrond's loud voice rang through the room.
'I don't mind Lómadia joining us, its just, this quest is going to be dangerous. I don't want her risking her life for no reason..' Frodo said sadly.
'she knows how dangerous this journey is. Then it is settled. You leave at dawn, Lómadia leaves with you.' Lord Elrond stood up, signalling the end of the meeting. Frodo sighed and left the room. He honestly didn't mind Lómadia joining the fellowship, he just thought it strange that a striking elf like that would risk her life. He was sure there must be a very good reason, but she hadn't told him why.

The next day dawned, bright and sunny. Lómadia sat on the floor in her room, checking she had packed everything she needed for the journey ahead. She was closing her backpack, when there came a light knock at her door.
'Come in.' She called. The door creaked open and in walked Legolas, wearing his travelling clothes. Lómadia stood up and walked over to a desk under her window. There, on the desk, lay a long bow, a quiver of arrows and a small, razor-sharp, fighting knife.
'I am leaving on my quest soon, I hope to meet you again, maybe in Mirkwood?' Legolas said, walking into the room and staring at the bow in Lómadia's hands.
'I hope so, Legolas. Good luck with your quest.' She smiled politely at Legolas while slotting her knife into her belt.
'Good bye, Lómadia.' He bowed and left the room, closing the door behind him.
'Until our next meeting' Lómadia whispered under her breath. She stood for a moment, thinking about her journey, and how she may never see Rivendell again. Picking up her arrows, and backpack, she walked out of the room, her head held high.
After taking a deep breath, Lómadia walked quickly into the part of Rivendell where the fellowship had agreed to meet before setting off. She was slightly anxious about meeting the rest of the fellowship, for only Elrond and Frodo knew she was coming along. Unless Frodo and told them all of course, which she was secretly hoping he had.
As she walked into the clearing, all heads turned to her.
'Ah, here she is.' Lord Elrond said, smiling. 'I trust you have all heard about Lómadia joining your on your quest?' This was said to the rest of the fellowship. She had never met any of them before except Frodo and Legolas.
'Legolas? Lómadia's eyes widened, Legolas was taking the same journey as her. He was as surprised to see her as she was to see him. The rest of the fellowship glared at her, though in a nice way. They were all smiling at her. Slightly, she relaxed, smiled and took up her place standing next to Legolas. She stood here because he was the same race as here, and the different races stood next to each other.
Elrond provided the company with food provisions and waved them fair well as they left Rivendell. Lómadia positioned herself as far away from Legolas as she could, she didn't feel like having the third degree as soon as the company left. Which meant that she was right at the front alongside Frodo. She kept her eyes forward, feeling Legolas' eyes watching her.
